House Rules
It is our hope that you enjoy the Stowe Cottage to the fullest, disconnect from the busyness of your daily lives and find the peace and serenity that the area has to offer.
Please help us keep this area enjoyable by all while protecting the natural beauty by following these simple rules:
No Smoking in the house, porch, or deck: If you do smoke outside, please be sure to dispose of your trash appropriately - not throwing your butts on the ground.
Do not store food on the 3-season porch - this cottage is in the wilderness and anything that smells yummy will attract the small wildlife (and sometimes larger wildlife)
Do not flush anything except toilet paper down the toilet - all feminine products and "flush-able" wipes should be put in the trash.
IF YOU BROUGHT MOTOR SPORTS:
a. Be sure everyone in your party has the appropriate safety class certificates to operate the machinery safely, and that your machines are properly registered. Visit gowild.wi.gov for more information.
b. Please review the rules of the trail and all area trail maps to ensure you know and can follow all laws and expectations - many of our trail systems cross private property - be sure to STAY ON THE TRAIL and ensure these trails are available for future generations. More information on area trails can be found at www.birchwoodbobcatriders.com/
c. NO power-turning, squealing tires, burnouts, or speeding on or near the property or neighbors - be respectful.
d. If snowmobiling on the lake - please take care and be safe, reach out to owners for complete explanation of appropriate lake entrances/exits.
e. Guided tours may be available for additional fees should you be interested.
FIRE PIT RULES:
a. DO NOT BURN in windy weather - remember you are in the forest - and like Smokey the Bear taught us, "ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES"!
b. Some firewood will be provided, but please consider bringing your own and restocking what you use.
c. Ensure that your fire is extinguished completely before leaving the fire pit area.
SPORTSMEN/SPORTSWOMEN
a. DO NOT clean game/fish in the house
b. Discuss options for clean up/disposal with owners
Report any and all concerns as soon as possible to owners - we live just next door.
